What is the future of the IOTA cryptocurrency?

Well, I personally am don't see a bright future in IOTA cryptocurrency.
Let's see the whole story.
IOTA is a distributed ledger for the Internet of Things. The first ledger with microtransactions without fees as well as secure data transfer. Quantum proof.
  1. IOTA is ~$0.62 at the moment.
  2. Market capitalization is around $1.1b.
  3. Circulating supply of ~$2.7b MIOTA.
  4. Maximum supply of ~$2.7b MIOTA.
So what exactly is IOTA
  • IOTA is a new cryptocurrency that focused on Machine-2-Machine (M2M) transactions. The main purpose of IOTA is to serve the machine economy by enabling feeless M2M (Machine-to-Machine) payments.
  • IOTA provide efficient, secure, lightweight, real time micro-transactions without fees. It is open-source, decentralized cryptocurrency, engineered specifically for Internet of Things, its real-time micro transactions and providing ecosystem that is ready and flexible for scale.
  • It is denoted by MIOTA i.e. 1 million IOTA as a unit.
  • There is no transaction fee.
  • It uses tangle Technology instead of blockchain.
    • Tangle, the core innovation of IOTA
    • In the Tangle, each transaction forms a new block and it is verified by itself. To be able proceed this verification it has to first verify two randomly chosen transactions in the network.
    • Each transaction reference to other transaction as its proof of work.
    • Sender do the work, no block chain rewards. Yes you get it write no rewards for the miners.
    • In order to send a transaction, a person have to mine.
    • It has data transfer protocol which allows devices to connect with each other to send data freely.
Then why i don't think so it as a good idea to invest.
  1. As you might have observed in the above chart that it started with high market capitalization and then started to get low. That means it can go easily crash.
  2. Business that accept IOTA? ZERO expect Bitfinex.
  3. Smart devices using IOTA? ZERO
So because these reasons made me kind of worry and I don't trust on it.
